Setting Up A Dial-up Connection
For all versions of Microsoft Windows.
- Click on Start
- Click Run
- In the box labelled Open, type "inetwiz" and click OK. This will open the Internet Connection Wizard
- Select "Connect using my phone line" and click Next
- If you are given the option, select "Create a new dial-up connection", click on Next
- Remove the tick from "Use area code and dialing rules"
- In the phone number type:
086748477 (if connecting from Auckland)
087303185 (if connecting from outside Auckland) - Click on Next
- Enter your username and password and click Next
- Type Ezysurf for the connection name and click Next
- Select No when asked if you want to setup your internet mail account
- Click on Next and then on Finish
This will add a new Internet dialer with your e3 connection details to your computer, as well as a shortcut to it on your desktop. If you already have a dial-up connection on your computer, you may want to delete it to prevent it from being used.
Delete a Dial-up Connection
In Windows 95/98:
- Double click on the My Computer icon on your desktop
- Double click Dialup Networking
- Click on the dialer you wish to delete, and press Delete
In Windows 2000:
- Click on Start
- Select Settings
- Click on Network and Dial-up Connections
- Click on the dialer you wish to delete, and press Delete
In Windows XP:
- Click on Start
- Select Settings
- Click on Control Panel
- Double click on Network Connections
- Click on the dialer you wish to delete, and press Delete
Please Note...
If you have Call Waiting, you will need to add the prefix *52 to the phone number.
If you use a PABX (you dial 1 or 9 to dial out), you will need to add the prefix 1 or 9 to the phone number.
If you have Call Minder (Telecom's answering machine service), you will need to delete all messages before connecting to the internet. You cannot leave any messages saved on the Call Minder.
