Setting Up Outlook Express

1. Double click on the Outlook Express icon on your desktop

2. After Outlook Express opens it may display 2 error messages. Press your ESC key twice to get rid of these

3. Click on the Tools menu at the top of the Outlook Express screen and select Accounts

4. When the Internet Accounts screen opens make sure the Mail tab is selected. Click on this tab if you are unsure if it is selected or not

5. On the Mail window there will either be no entries or you may have many different accounts here. If you are not using Outlook Express for any other internet provider (ISP), remove the accounts until the only one left is the one that says 'Mail (Default)'

6. Click once on the last Account in the list and select the Properties button

7. In the Name field type your name. You can leave the Organization field blank. In the Email Address field type you login name followed by @e3.net.nz. Leave everything else that is ticked or doesn't have any text in the field as they are

8. Click on the Servers tab at the top of this window and enter everything that you see below in the same fields. Please enter your login name and your password in the appropriate fields. Leave the boxes that are ticked and the boxes that are not ticked. NB: Account name is your login name only NOT your_login@e3.net.nz



9. If you would like Outlook Express to ask you to dialup and connect to e3 if you aren't connected at the time, click on the Connection tab and place a tick on the box that says 'Always connect to this account using' and make sure that e3 is selected from the list below

10. Click on the OK button at the bottom of the Properties page

11. Click on the Close button on the 'Internet Accounts' screen. You are now ready to send and recieve email
