Reinstalling TCP/IP

If you experience slow connections or the modem not connecting at all, or an error message: "The computer you are dialing into is not answering", try reinstalling TCP/IP. TCP/IP is the protocol your computer uses to connect to the internet.

These instructions only apply to Windows 95, 98 & 2000. This activity is not necessary on Windows XP systems.

1. Double click the My Computer icon on your desktop

2. Double click Control Panel

3. Double click Network

4. Click TCP/IP and click Remove

5. Click Add

6. Double click Protocol

7. Click Microsoft

8. Click TCP/IP

9. Press OK. The computer will ask you to Restart - click Yes.
